Eleanor: Today we went to the duck pond where we met a stunted duckling. It was cute. It pecked Sue once. It drank our tadpole water! It had stunted wings with no feathers because people were giving it too much bread. Ducks need to eat healthier food. PS- very naughty people!
We have been talking about responsible pet ownership this week. Today we walked to the duck pond to get some fresh clean water for our tadpoles. We need to change their water every few days so that they grow up happy and healthy. Sue showed us how to clean the tank and move the tadpoles from one tank to the other without hurting them. When the tadpoles grow into frogs we will take them back to the pond. We need to remember to feed them every few days too. The cross on the lid of the tank is to remind us not to put our hands in the water. Fish and tadpoles get scared to death when you put your hands in. The tank is see through so that we can look through the sides and watch the tadpoles swim.
